A. Key Health Issues

Based on internal assessments and regional health data, EHFAF targets these critical challenges in rural Cameroon.
mother and newborn care

Maternal & Newborn Mortality

High rates of home births without skilled attendants; postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal sepsis are leading causes of death.

child malnutrition

Child Malnutrition

Chronic malnutrition (stunting) affects nearly one-third of children in rural areas, impacting lifelong development.

vaccination coverage

Low Vaccination Coverage

Geographic isolation and lack of cold chain infrastructure leave many children unvaccinated against preventable diseases.

clean water access

Water & Sanitation

Over 50% of rural communities lack improved water sources; open defecation fuels diarrheal diseases.

sepsis awareness

Sepsis

A silent killer often undiagnosed at the primary care level due to lack of point-of-care diagnostics.

non-communicable diseases

Non-Communicable Diseases

Hypertension and diabetes are underdiagnosed and poorly managed in rural settings.

B. Projects

EHFAF runs seven integrated programs, all launched from December 2022 onward, designed to address root causes of poor health outcomes in rural Cameroon.
